Seventeen year old Natasha Johnson is having a rough year. Her twin
brother, Sean, died last summer after a car crash, and her parents decided to
pack up and leave the only home she’d known all her life. It's a lot to take
in, and Nat has decidedly given up on the world, until moving to Stetson Valley
and meeting high school ‘outcast’, Chace Owens.
Chace's dark and mysterious aura is not exactly seen as 'normal', but Nat already knows that not a lot of things are of the norm when it comes to her life. She soon finds herself unable to resist Chace's strange pull on her heart, unleashing a sudden attraction to the unnatural forces that have always been burning within her. But with uncovering her true self brings forth great danger, as Nat learns that her brother's death had a lot more to do with the side she's unable to resist.
Can Natasha calm the blazing flames and withstand the threat
of danger, or will this new found power
destroy her?
My Review
This book
started off good, but then it felt like it was going in the Twilight direction.
Girl moves to new school, guy that never talks to anyone talks to her and he
sits at a table in the lunch room by himself. I didn’t think that I would
continue reading it, but I did. I’m glad I went on because that’s where the similarities
ended. I still think it was a little short and I found a few errors, but he
author said she is fixing them now. :D Other than that I think this was a good
book, nothing fancy. It is a good book to read if you have a few extra hours to
kill. With that being said, the ending left me wanting more. The ending was
GREAT!!! I was like no way man no way. I was not expecting that and I loved it.
I know that I have to read the next one ASAP!!!! I need to know what happens. I’ve
also read other books about fire starters, but mainly they were adult books. I
like how she changed a few things up and threw in a few twists. I highly
enjoyed that. I have high hopes for this series and I know it can only get
better from here.
Nat: I was hoping
that she was going to be a stronger character. She was in her own way, I guess.
I think in the next one we will really find out how strong she is. She was a likable character
and I can’t wait to see how she handles her current situation. EEP
Chace: He was
not what I was expecting either. I was hoping for a kinda bad boy that has a soft
side, but Chace is an all-around good guy that wants to be with Nat. He also
seemed a little clinging and I hope that he isn’t like that in the next one.
Jesse: Now he
is someone that I liked. I guess you would call him the bad guy in this book,
but I don’t think he is bad at all. He just doesn’t know all the details yet
and I’m hoping he will change sides.

Quotes: I couldn’t just pick one LOL
If this was
one of Mom’s romance novels we would’ve been experiencing insta-love by now
Well good for
him. He had a garage full while I still had my training bike
“What….are you
doing?” Chace stood at the door taking in the show. My antics must’ve
entertained him. He appeared to have recovered some of his strength. I tossed
the pillow back on the bed. “I was…umm…just- “You were just kissing my pillow, passionately.”
