Cover and Blurb Reveal: Rise Of The Wolf (Eye Of The Storm #5), by Dianna Hardy

Rise Of The Wolf (Eye Of The Storm #5)

The fifth book in the dark paranormal fantasy series, Eye Of The Storm.

With the king returned after twenty years absent, wolves across the country – even Europe – are coming out of hiding to show their support. And not a moment too soon, for dark shadows from the past are taking centre stage in the lives of the four who lead the Surrey pack.

Is the royal line corrupt? Where do storm-wielders truly come from? And how does an ancient Egyptian mythology fit into the confused present?

As the moon begins to wax once more, answers start to surface. However, they may come too late to save their species from extinction.

The bond between the mated four is stronger than ever; a future worth fighting for is within reach... But The Trident have a new leader – one who will do anything to survive. And the knowledge one old woman harbours could be enough to destroy everything.

Beautifully Broken (Infinite Love #2) by Kira Adams Book Blitz + Giveaway

Genres: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Jacqueline Blunt hasn’t had an easy life. In fact, she’s had anything but. From a drug addicted mother to being bounced around in foster care, Jacqueline longed for one thing—normalcy. Lee Bennett had everything he could ever want—girls falling all over him, a dream job, money. The one thing he was missing? Passion.

Sometimes the ones worth fighting for don’t know their worth. Sometimes being broken is beautiful. This is a story of strength, courage, hope, faith, and love. This is Beautifully Broken.
Only 99 pennies during the blitz!

After we changed in the locker rooms, we emerged and I couldn’t stop staring at Jacqueline. Austyn had chosen the tankini, whatever that was and Jacqueline looked beautiful. Austyn had been spot on.
We started off in the shallow end. That way she could touch the ground, in turn feeling safe.

I initiated a water fight to make her feel even more secure. I had never seen her smile more.

“Okay, I’m going to need you to lie flat on your back, I’m going to teach you how to float.” Instinctively, I put my arms out in front of me.

I felt Jacqueline’s weightless body fall back onto my arms and I guided her around the pool. When we had been in the deep end for more than ten minutes, I removed my arms from underneath Jacqueline. Her eyes were closed and by the time she realized she was alone, I was already halfway across the pool.

“Lee?” She began to kick her legs, flailing her arms, looking for me; causing her to accidentally swallow some pool water.

“Jac, I’m right here,” I said in a calming voice. “You were doing fine until you began second guessing yourself. Just kick your feet underneath you and keep your head above water.”

I swam out to her after I saw a visible change in her posture. “How you doing?”

“You’re an ass, but I’m swimming!”

“Now that’s the spirit!” I wiggled my eyebrows at her.

She wrapped her legs around my torso. “Don’t leave me again,” she murmured.

“I’m not going anywhere.” Jacqueline was my life now. I spent every waking moment apart from work wrapped up in her.

For once in my life someone had grounded me—and I liked it.

“What are you thinking about?” Jacqueline ran her fingers gently over my forehead.

“You,” I replied, honestly.

Her eyes grew wide. “What about me?”

“You’ve managed to ground me; this is the longest I’ve been in one single place in years.”

Jacqueline looked enthused. “That’s awesome.”

“That’s awesome? That’s all you have to say after I made that huge confession?” She was being modest.

“I knew you liked me more than you let on…I’ve just been waiting for you to come out and say it!” She poked me in the chest playfully.

“Oh really? I’m going to drop you in this water!” I tried to release her limbs from my body but they were hanging on for dear life.

I couldn’t help but laugh. This was us. Jacqueline was my girlfriend and I was falling hard. If I didn’t watch it I would be the one face planting in love with her much quicker than I had ever anticipated.

My player days were being put behind me and I felt relieved; I felt renewed.

Excerpt from FRAGILE REIGN

Rowan
After Marcus left, the lack of sleep and overuse of my power had finally caught up to me. My lids were heavy, making it hard to keep my eyes open. I laid down on the nearest bed, sinking into the softness of the vanilla scented pillows. I could rest here until tomorrow, and then meet Kalin on the beach at sundown. As I closed my eyes, I imagined her in that sexy sundress with the ocean breeze wafting through her red curls. My lips tingled remembering the raspberry taste of her kisses. With all this craziness going on, she was the one thing that made sense. The only person who could make me forget about everything for a little while. Kalin was the one I wanted. The only one I needed. I shook my head. What was wrong with me? It was too soon to be thinking about this stuff, right? It had only been a few weeks. And what did I know about real feelings, anyway? Had it not been for Marcus, I would never even know what it felt like to care for someone. Love was never part of my life. My mother thought love was a weakness—a totally worthless emotion compared to power and control. But that still didn’t explain how I was feeling. Why everything seemed better when Kalin was around. Why my fingers ached to touch her. Why her pain shattered me to the core. I put my hands over my face. Or, maybe the lack of sleep was making me delusional. With a smirk, I gave in to the darkness that was overwhelming me and fell asleep.

EXCERPTS!!!!

Rowan

I need to clear my head.
Away from my court.
Away from everyone.
I took a portal to the beach—the last place I had spent time with Kalin. Nothing about the last several hours made any kind of sense to me. I walked aimlessly down the sandy beach as I tried to unravel the confusion in my head. Dark skies made it difficult to see much of anything in front of me. The only illumination came from the full moon. In this dimmed light, I could make out the outline of the veil protecting Avalon. It sparkled like the stars in the sky.
My thoughts quickly shifted back to the engagement party. Kalin just stood there at his side and didn’t say a word. She didn’t even bother to answer my question. Did she feel nothing when she saw me? Did she even care how I felt? This wasn’t the Kalin I had come to know. The brave girl I had trained. The girl who saved her father against all odds. The girl who fought viciously for her court. It was a nightmare. Unfortunately, my nightmare was also my reality.

I'm not gonna lie, my eyes misted up a little at that one. *sniff*

Kalin

Being betrothed totally sucked. Having powers I couldn’t control sucked. Not being able to help my ailing father sucked. Pretty much everything about my life right now sucked on an epic level of suckage. I forced a smile as I stood beneath the stone archway next to the council members, pretending to be excited to meet Sebastian. The same way I pretended not to notice my decisions were being made for me. Like everything in my life wasn’t out of control and falling to pieces right in front of me.
The mountain wind caught hold of the bottom trim of my yellow full-length gown. I pushed it back down with my gloved hands. The council insisted that our first meeting was to be a formal affair, so I had to dress like I was going to a prom. Ariel, of course, tried to make the best of it. She thought a princess makeover might improve my mood. Unfortunately, all of her efforts— combined with the way-too-tight bodice on this gown—just added to my overall disdain.
After speaking with Dad, we decided it was best for him to keep Mom away from all of this. At the moment, I had to go along with the engagement. I was hoping I could gain my akasha powers and never have to tell her about this whole disaster. Although I understood Dad’s motives, I was still pissed that he never told me about the betrothal. There should have been a discussion between us. Lots and lots of them until he saw my side and then changed his mind. An overwhelming sense of despair lingered in the pit of my stomach. If I couldn’t ignite my akasha powers, would I really have to follow through with this and marry a stranger?

Tissue anyone??? I can't wait ot read this book!!! AHHH

And then I remember that kiss. The way his lips brushed against mine, gentle at first, then harder, deeper, with more urgency. Sex in the elevator. Hot, forbidden, delicious.

MY REVIEW

Even though it’s been awhile since I read the first book, emotional swelled up at soon as I started reading the first page. All the moments from the first book kept running through my mind and they still cut deep. I knew from the first chapter that I was going to be an emotional mess by the end of the book. I was not disappointed and looked a wreck by the end. Jamie Canosa writes a powerful story that packs an emotional punch.

So every now and then I read a book that just blows me away and Pieces of my Heart is one of those books. I don’t think any other book has made me feel like this one has. This series is beautiful and if you haven’t read the first in the series I recommend you start it. But beware you will need to have tissues and something cuddly to hold…like a cat or stuffed animal….I have a wolf. I’m pretty sure after reading this book I looked a hot mess, no I know I looked awful. I cried all over myself and if I wasn’t reading it in the early morning I would have screamed a little. This just wasn’t a sad story though; it was about trying to pick yourself up and realizing that you just might need help. The characters in the story learned a lot about themselves throughout the story and I don’t think they knew they had the strength to pick themselves up.

I don’t really want to spoil anything about the first book, so I’m going to try and tread lightly on what I say. Jade also called Angel by Caulder is falling apart and doesn’t know if she can pick up the pieces. She is trying but she doesn’t know how much longer she can go on like this. As soon as she starts showing a semblance of life, someone enters her life that she never expected to see. This starts another downward spiral that Jade might not make it back from.

Caulder is keeping everything bottled up inside and trying to be strong for everyone, but it is killing him. His grades aren’t what they should be and he hasn’t really been doing anything. He can never forget Jade though. He wants to be there for her and for her to want him there. He knows he shouldn’t care about her the way he does, but there is just something about her. Kiernan broke both of their hearts into little pieces.
I loved Caulder in this book and I hate to say it but he may have stolen my heart more than Kiernan did. He was so emotional in this book when he was so hard in the first. Caulder is more than just a pretty face and body.

What happens when you put two people together that have broken hearts? Maybe they just might make a whole.

Overall: Piece of my Heart will always be a part of my heart and I will always remember it. I plan to read it again and again. This book may be dark and gloomy most of the time but it’s inspirational as well. This is a must read of 2014!!!

5 STARS
