Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.

She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.

Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, mysterious man keeps flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.

But little does she know, there's someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

My Review

So I really liked this book, but there were too many guys that she liked. I know three is not a lot compared to other book, but that's how I felt. She always had to have a guy around. Why couldn't she just be herself for awhile. I think she wanted a guy around to feel important and  to get noticed. I was hoping that she would realize that she didn't need a guy in her life. If she did need a guy in her life I was rooting for this one guy in particular. Who?  I'll never tell. LOL I did however like the stalker aspect even though I kinda figured out who it was way before her and everyone else. It was really obvious and that was a shame. I was hoping it was going to be a little bit more challenging.  Keatyn however didn't know who it was. I was screaming at her the whole time. I enjoyed it though. It was entertaining watching her live out her life. I highly enjoyed her telling her scripts of how she wanted her life to go. Some of them were hilarious, but some of them I was like I WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TOO. LOL Also about the school. Is that how schools are? I never experienced anything like she did. We didn't have a fashion trend. If we did I never heard of it. My school we had more fights than anything. I'm just glad I didn't have to go to her school.  With all the things I didn't like, I really liked this book. I will continue with the series b/cc I want to know what happens to her. I give this book a 3.5 STARS!!!!!!

Keatyn: Like I said she has to be noticed and has to have a boyfriend. I think she would do fine on her own. She was a strong character, but not in the fighting way. She knew more often than not what to do. She showed real courage sometimes. She was very likable.

Brrokyln: I thought that I liked him at first, but then I changed my mind. He just played with her emotions during the whole book. I didn't even like him at the end of the book. I really can't believe that I don't like him. His description is dreamy and just what I want my guy to look like. This just goes to show, looks aren't everything.

Cush: EEP Now Cush I liked. Yes, he is the player in the book, but you cant help but to like him. I admit there was one part in the book that I despised him, but that is behind me and I forgive him. LOL I felt like he was really genuine in what he said and he is a real good guy.

3.5 STARS

But after a tragic accident claims the life of her mother, Araina is left dumbfounded and finds herself on a much different path: enrolling in the local college in Austin. Convinced that her mother’s death was no accident, she becomes obsessed with finding out the truth, and becomes disconnected from everything around her in the process.
That is … until she meets Lucca.
Lucca is the captain of the Resistance: an elite group sworn to protect Araina. He knows the truth about her mother’s death and the future attempts that will be made on Araina’s life due to her being the great-granddaughter of Leto, mother of Artemis and Apollo, which is why it is important he follow the one rule given to him: Don’t get too attached.
It is his job to gain her trust and somehow reveal her true lineage and what the fates have in store for her. Araina is about to be thrown into a world she never knew and will have to come to terms with the role she will play in the Resistance.

Excerpt:

He walked the path back to the house they were using as their headquarters at the moment; though it wasn’t much on the outside the inside made up plenty for it. As he walked in through the door he stopped and looked to the right to stare at his own reflection. Heavy bags hung under his eyes, his tan skin was much duller and his black hair a mess.
“You need to get rest. Huntir and I have everything set up so take this opportunity to gather your strength. Wearing yourself out like this will not be beneficial in guarding her.”
Lucca turned to his older brother Matteo, surprised that he had arrived so soon. “I know, I will go take a shower and get rest, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.” He passed Matteo but not before laying his hand on his brother's shoulder as if silently reassuring him not to worry and that he was fine. Though his brother had pointed out his need for rest, his mind was running around with too many unanswered questions with no way to solve them. But one question he kept going back to was always the same, the one that would matter most in the end.
When he finally reveals the truth to her will she rise from her sorrow and be the savior they needed her to be? Or will she turn away and go into hiding like her mother did and suffer the same fate? As he got to the top of the stairs, without turning around he asked, “Why did you arrive ahead of schedule brother?” he waited for his brother to reply, a heavy silence floated between the two. He did not expect the next few words that came out of his brother’s mouth.
“We have verification on who killed Aella.”

So what did y'all think of the cover? Isn't it great. The girl on the cover has beautiful hair. I wish I had thick hair like that. LOL

My Review
This book was sooooo not what I was expecting. I didn’t thing that I would like it very much, but it proved me wrong. All the characters were highly developed which I highly enjoyed and they were unique in their own way. I also liked how it switched between Rake, Ravil, and the hunters. It kept you in the know and you knew what was going on. There were a lot of moments where I was like what in the world just happened. I never knew what was going to happen next. There were a few of the what in the world moments that I didn’t like. I know it added the story but really fishnet stocking and a skirt (You have to read the story to find out). It’s not that I didn’t enjoy it, I did. It was just really random and unexpected and I liked most of them. Also let me tell you that the author held nothing back. She was not afraid to tell it like it is. Usually books keep you in the dark or are full of wishful thinking or a perfect little world. Not in this book. The author tells the cold hard truth, which I very much enjoyed. No one is perfect but we all have a conscience. Rake was a prime example. He is a druggie that couldn’t handle his past and drugs were an outlet for him, but he knew right from wrong. I’ll talk about him more later.  This book just kept me my toes. It also kept me up until 5 in the morning. LOL I couldn’t put it down. I was addicted like rake with his drugs. This book totally BLEW MY MIND and it is going in the top 10 books of 2012.
Ravil she was a likable character. In the beginning she was a real winy baby. Well most of the story she was. She always had to have someone save her. At the end she finally started to stand up for herself and get a backbone. I can’t wait to see where she goes.
Rake he was a real piece of work. He was beyond words. He was I guess you could call it a male hooker. He had sex for money so that he could buy his drugs. I didn’t think I would ever like him, but I ended up doing it. He decided to change his tune and IDK if that is a good thing. (See reference to skirt). Although he had his faults he was a really good guy. I really started to like hi at the end of the book. I’m going to be waitin for him to come to his senses.

This book was a crazy adventure and I can’t wait for more!!!!!!!!

OPAL Book Trailer reveal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AHHH OMG I get to share with all y'all the trailer for OPAL. When I got the email saying that I get to participate. I totally fangirled. Like for real. I love the trailer. It doesn't really say what is happening in Opal, but I'm glad it doesn't. Some of you probably don't like that, but I haven't had the chance to read Onyx yet *GASP* I know right. So I'm glad it didn't give anything away. OK so enough with me talking, let's get to that trailer. YAY!!!!!!!!

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.
