The Sight by Chloe Neill Blog Tour + Giveaways!

The paranormal war that engulfed New Orleans seven years ago is over.  But the battle for the city is just beginning . . .
Claire Connolly is a Sensitive, infected with magic when the Veil that divides humanity from the world beyond fell. Magic can easily consume and destroy a Sensitive, and if Claire’s secret is discovered she’ll be locked into the walled district of Devil’s Isle along with every other Paranormal left in the city.
Bounty hunter Liam Quinn discovered Claire’s secret, but refused to turn her in. Together they saved New Orleans from the resurgence of magic that nearly destroyed it. But now a dangerous cult is on the rise, and it will take both Claire and Liam—and magical allies within Devil’s Isle’s towering walls—to defeat the occult threat before magic corrupts them both…

MY REVIEW

Sin Evernight is a man haunted by his past. When his mentor Augustus tells him that Layla will be coming back, Sin vows to keep her safe from creatures that mean her harm….and himself. If Layla finds out about his past, he is sure she will be horrified and leave. He will not let that happen, not matter how breathtaking she is.

Layla is a famous singer and thinks Sin is to guard her against fans. The real reason is far more dangerous and they will need all the help they can to win.

It’s time to concur your fears in this last installment of the Darkest London series.

I’m sad to see this series come to an end. I’ve only read the first two and Forevermore, but I loved it all the same. It mentions some things from previous books, so I suggest you read the others before this one and not be like me. I couldn’t give up the opportunity to read this book, though.

So, I loved every minute of this book. I only stopped reading because I needed sleep. Sin’s and Layla’s connection is so pure and sweet. I was hoping they’d end up together by the end of the book. There is a lot of mystery in the book and the book keeps you in suspense up until the end. Don’t expect any answers to your questions in the beginning. None of my guesses were right dealing with Layla. Sin’s past was something I was dying to know. What could do this to a man, that he pushes his entire family away? It’s heartbreaking. Sin is a powerful being but I don’t think we really got to see his full potential. He has all this power and he rarely had to use it. I also wanted to see more of Layla’s power. We get to see some of it but only to a certain extent. We also get to see a lot of familiar faces in this book. I think fans will enjoy seeing them all together for the last time. :)

Overall: It was a great book to end the series with. This series will always have a place in my heart and on my shelf. <3

EXCERPT:
One might think being an immortal was a blessing, never grow old, never grow sick, never die. At one time in St. John Evernight’s life, he considered it a blessing too. He would be around long after the simple humans who surrounded him were nothing but dust. They could stare all they liked at his “strange” hair and frosty green eyes. They could gossip and speculate about him until they lost their voices. It didn’t matter. He was untouchable, and they were but fragile sacks of blood and bone.
How naive he’d been. Because living forever merely meant a lack of escape from the desolation of regret and loneliness. He knew now that he could walk down Jermyn Street endlessly, see the sands of time shift and rearrange before him, and never be a part of life.
“Brooding, Mr. Evernight?”
Sin almost jumped at the sudden sound of Augustus’s voice by his side. Damn, the blasted man loved to startle him. He gave Augustus a passing glance. Dressed in conservative brown tweed and a bowler hat, the angel appeared every inch the English gentlemen, save for his dark coloring that marked him to be from Southern climes.
“It’s really quite the trick, popping up like a soap bubble whenever you choose, Augustus. You must teach me how one day.”
The man’s mouth twitched. “With your luck, you’d pop up in the middle of a parliamentary session.”
Yes, Sin had abominable luck. Or perhaps it was more a matter of making abominable choices.
“You’re brooding again,” Augustus remarked.
“I’m not brooding. This is simply my face.”
Augustus snorted but remained silent as they walked along, past Trafalgar Square and down Whitehall.
“Care to tell me why you called me here?” Sin asked, when they came upon the grounds of Westminster. For the past year, Sin had been in Rome, soaking in the warmer temperatures, drinking espresso in cafes along the Piazza della Rotunda, under the shade of the ancient Pantheon. He’d eaten simple but delicious food, and listened to the rapid fire of Italian, and felt…well, not peace, but a measure of contentment.
Until Augustus had sent for him. Returning to England sat like a stone in his gut. But he would obey. Augustus was his mentor, and the man who’d given him salvation. The price was a lifetime of servitude. To be fair, his role was for justice, not evil, which was a nice change of pace.
A massive dray rattled past, kicking up dust and sending a fug of stale manure into the air. They hurried past the cloud and headed for Westminster Abbey. Sin hadn’t planned on visiting today, but here they were all the same. He wondered if Augustus somehow had led him to their usual meeting place or if Sin had merely headed that way because of the man’s sudden arrival.
He’d like to think the latter. It did not sit well with him having another control his actions. Not since a certain evil fae had kept Sin as a blood slave for years. Even now, the memory made his stomach turn.
Not a soul acknowledged them as they walked through the abbey and into the cloisters. Here, a rare bit of sunlight peeked through the constant cloud cover and cast lacy shadows along the walkway. The sound of their boot heels clacked out a steady rhythm as they strolled along.
 “Layla returns to London tonight.”
At the mention of her name, Sin’s heart stilled within his breast. He’d tried his best to ward off all finer feelings, to remain numb, detached from life. And yet he could not, for the life of him, remain immune to Layla Starling. His childhood friend. The one woman who could take his breath, his reason, simply by laying eyes upon her.
Stuffing his shaking hands into his trouser pockets, Sin forced himself to keep an even tone. “So then I am to begin watching over her?”
God, but he did not want to. It would be agony, staying so close to her and never being allowed to show his true feelings. And yet a thrum of anticipation went through him at the mere prospect of seeing Layla once more.
“Are you ready?” Augustus asked, though his expression told Sin he fully expected an affirmative answer.
So Sin told him the only truth left to him. “I will not fail her.”

My Review

It’s a typical day in Darcyville when a dead body lands in front of her. She and her friends are dancing away at Club Need when the wall deteriorates and a body falls right in front of Darcy and Dylan. This can only mean on thing, Darcy is going to find out how it happened and who did it. One of her contacts pleads with her to let this one go but she can’t. This leads her down a dangerous path and she might not make it back. Through her cunning and cleverness, she gets the girls name and a clue that she might have been trying to spy on an underground fight club.

Let the fight begin!

OMG A.J. does it again with another awesome book. I don’t know how she does it but they keep getting better and better. This is by far my favorite out of all the books…as of right now. I’ve yet to read Foolproof yet. This book had me from the start and didn’t let go. You’d think it was going to go one way but it didn’t. I like surprises. There was a little foreshadowing but my mind was like Nah let it go. Listen to your instincts people! LoL Darcy is a hoot like always and she always seems to find trouble. She can’t help it, she is a magnet. She also has become a magnet for guy, like whoa! Gorgeous guys galore!!!!! *drools* Clean up on aisle 5! So let’s get away from that topic for a minute and talk about some stuff that happened in the book. Underground fight clubs have always been interesting to me. I like it has to do with some movies that I watched. This particular underground fight club is not what I had in mind. That was some scary stuff and I cried multiple times. So dang heartbreaking and I found my self praying for Darcy and her companion. Darcy is one heck of a girl and I’m determined that she can withstand anything. She does crack a little but she has support. She always picks her self up though and is a better person because of it. There is some tension between Darcy and Dylan but their love for one another is a fiery passion that no one can smother. They are HAWT HAWT HAWT. There is one person in the book that has surpassed my love for Dylan *GASP* I know, I know. It was unexpected but I think Dylan will drag me back in the next books, but Ben has found a place in my heart. Oh my goodness. He is so strong and and and Words can not describe how I feel about him. The things he did in the book just made me cry for him and cheer for him at the same time. My goodness he is so freaking dream worthy. I wonder what will happen to him in the next book. I know Darcy will find herself in another mess but what kind I’m not sure. I just know that it will be a rollercoaster ride that I’ll love.

Overall: This book packs a huge Punch ;) It has an underground fight club, a dead body, a mystery, and of course, Darcy. What more could you want? This is the best book A.J. has written so far and I highly recommend you start this series. You will not be disappointed, ever!

P.s. This book made me ugly cry. *sniff*

 My Review:

Big Cat was so adorable. I read it with my nephew, he is in kindergarten. The publisher website said the book is for ages 4-8. It was perfect for a kindergartener . There was only one word that he had trouble with and that was the word Dance. He really didn’t try to sound it out, though. He told me he didn’t like the Big Cat, not the book but the cat pictures. He is not a cat lover like I am. I loved all the pictures. I am a die-hard cat lover and I couldn't resist getting this book. It shows how loving and calm cats can be when there is a little one around. They will put up with just about anything. Lol The illustrations were so cute and if a little one can’t read they can look at the pictures to find out what is going on. I am also in school to become a teacher right now and I will definitely have this book in my classroom.

5 Stars!

The Hunter's Moon by Beth Trissel Blog Tour {Review + Giveaway}

Series: The Secret Warrior #1
Release date: December 14th 2015
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Purchase: Amazon

Synopsis via Goodreads:

Seventeen-year-old Morgan Daniel has been in the witness protection program most of her life. But The Panteras have caught up with her and her younger brother. Her car is totaled, she's hurt, and the street gang is closing in when wolves with glowing eyes appear out of nowhere and chase away the killers.

Then a very cute guy who handles a bow like Robin Hood emerges from the woods and takes them to safety at his fortress-like home.

And that's just the first sign that Morgan and her brother have entered a hidden world filled with secrets...

My Review

Morgan and her brother Jimmy are on the run from the Panteras. Everywhere they go they are always there. Desperate, they take their aunts advice and go to the mountains. Before they reach their destination the Panteras catch up. Stranger still is that they get rescued by wolves, and then a cute guy shows up offering protection. Next thing she knows her and her brother are staying with these stranger that say she is linked to a prophecy.

Morgan is about to find out she has a lot more to worry about than the Panteras.

The Hunter’s Moon was a short but good read. It was a little slow at times for me and I kept putting it down. There were a lot of good moments though and that kept me coming back. This book is the start of the series and I know that the second one is going to be tons better. One thing that bothered me was Morgan is 16 years old but I kept thinking she was older, maybe that’s what the author wanted us to think. I guess she did have to grow up fast to protect herself and her brother. Morgan gets the shock of her life when she finds out about the things that go bump in the night and that she is part of a prophecy. The ending of this book was great! I loved how it ended and it promising for awesome things in the next book. The second one is going to be more action packed bc I think that they will finally have a show down. I’d like to meet the lizard lady and her daughters as well. That seems like it’s going to play an important part in the next book or books. Can’t wait to read it!

Overall The Hunter’s Moon is packed with sexy wolves, murderous panthers, and a prophecy that has been in the making for centuries.
