[Giveaways!] Bookapalooza Scavenger Hunt Stop

Hello! And welcome to Book- Marks The Spot's stop on Making The Grade's anniversary giveaway!
Bookapalooza is not only Making the Grade's Blogoversary celebration, it is also a celebration of the authors and bloggers involved in the young adult book industry. As part of Bookapalooza we are sharing our appreciation of each other and our love of reading!

On Each stop on the Scavenger hunt, the participating blogs will have a secret word posted in RED. Your job is to find all the words from the participating blogs, in order, and put them together. Then use your phrase for extra entries (25, to be exact) into the two giveaways going on at Making The Grade! Cool, right. Also, if you enter the author and/or book that the phrase/quote was taken from, that's 10 more bonus entries in the bag! cha-ching!

If you are starting out at my blog, stop! You need to go back to the beginning. I am actually the seventh stop on the Hunt, and therefore the seventh word in the Phrase. Visit the scavenger hunt post at Making The Grade HERE to figure out eh first stop on the hunt!

Also, make sure you visit all the stops anyway! There will be giveaways going on at the individual blog stops. YES WE EVEN HAVE A GIVEAWAY HERE. No, it is not extravagant  but we do so try. ;)

Well, the rules say that I must talk about my appreciation of my fellow bloggers and authors in the young adult genre. Well, let me first say that I have yet to meet anyone in the blogger world- blogger or author- that made me feel like I didn't belong. Tiffany and I have been blogging for around seven months now and we plan to be doing it for much longer. When we first started off, we had no earthly idea how to format our blog or what to do with the background. I tried to hard to com up with something and make is semi- presentable. I worked so hard at trying to format a background image and working with HTML. I ended up putting a picture of my dog as the blog cover and headline. I learned how to make a little blog button with a grab box. the picture was still my dog reading a book! Lets face it.  It was.. well, it was dreadful. I can show you, if you'd like:

See? What did I tell you? Dreadful. Thankfully, we met a wonderful fellow blogger who kindly offered to help us out and design a cover and headline for our blog. We were so grateful when Lisseth from Read a Holics for making out blog presentable to the public eye. Now our blog is all sexy and stuff. ;) We were so not expecting such generosity. Any other bloggers out there, if you need help with your blog, this is your girl! She has helped a few other bloggers and I am sure they are just as grateful for her help as we are! Thank you so much, Lisseth!

While Tiffany and I do not get to go out and meet authors and go to signings or festivals (mush as we really really really want to!), we have had the opportunity to meet some lovely Indie authors online and chat through email! Whether it is through our blog, itself, or through other blogs or just networking. Man, I just love indie authors. When you find a new Indie Author to love, it is like finding a diamond in the rough. Also, we will always have those fangirl moments when the author messages us back. When I hold a conversation with one of my favorite authors on facebook via comments, I am still like....OMG Tiffany, I am having a conversation with Victoria Schwab! I mean, granted we are carrying on the conversation on one of her pictures she posted..but it counts... right?

I know there is not a single person reading this right now who does not love BOOKS. We all know that they are magic and take us to anywhere we want to go. I am just so grateful that my best friend, Tiffany and I are both book lovers. I mean, our Idea of a girl's day out on the town is going to all out Used book stores in town. We may or may not have a problem with obtaining books... I am just so glad that I have someone to share in my book- loving insanity. I would not have been brave enough to do this on my own and I am glad that she suggested we start doing this! We really really love our followers! Thank you for taking the time to read my nonsense! come on back.

To obtain the next secret word after mine in the bookapalooza scavenger hunt, visit Say it With Books. Good luck and have fun!
