My Review
Skylar a real live Dragon Hunter has finally found her
target. The teal colored dragon in which she is supposed to bring in. She
thinks she can get in and get out without a struggle. The problem is the dragon
beat her to the punch. Now after a night with him she starts to question
everything she’s been taught. Chace is nothing like the stories shed been told.
She is also having very vivid dreams that feel like memories but that can’t be
right because she doesn’t recall them. She has to decide is she wants to betray
her people or betray her heart.
Chace is tired of living a lonely existence. He has been
alive for a thousand years and is tired of watching people he loves die. So he
strikes a deal with a dragon in exchange for everything he owns, is the dragon
shifter will make him human. Chace is waiting for a message from him when he
meets Skylar. Now he can’t seem to get her out of his mind…and bed and doesn’t know
if he wants to. But he knows something is amiss and he is going to find out
what. Will Chace give up everything to be human or will he stay the same to
keep his heart.
Nothing is as it
seems and it’s only a matter of time before someone’s heart is charred.
Charred Heart was an engaging read. How do I know? Well I
stayed up till about 3 in the morning to finish it and by the time I was done
my stomach was killing me from being so tense. That only happens to me when I
am really into a book. I loved the world building, loved the characters, and
can’t wait for the next one! Since I’m currently writing this review in 2013,
Charred heart is going on my best of 2013 list. :D It totally deserves it
because only the best make my list. Lol
Overall: this book
was everything I was hoping it to be Hot Dragon Shifter, Kick-a** MC and lots
of action.
Skylar was such a strong female lead. I felt that she was
well developed and that she was just a bit unlearned…but the reason for that is
revealed in the book. I’m a sucker for forbidden romance and this is what is
it, even though they hide their feelings. Skylar is a dragon Hunter and Chance
is…well a Dragon. You can see the dilemma here. I found their chemistry to be
not unbelievable but acceptable. A couple like them is unique though so the connection
was real. There is no Insta love here folks. Just a good ole fight your
feelings until you want to explode with passion. This is my first book that I’ve
read by Lizzy Ford and I’m highly impressed. The book kept me focused, engaged,
frustrated and immersed the whole time. I need to read more books by this
author because WHOOZER those love scenes were amazeballs.
Chace is a powerful dragon shifter that has a curse on him. He
was not born a dragon but made one by a scorned lover. Now he just wants to die
like a human whom I can respect but he is going to leave all the shifter
unprotected!!! A little selfish maybe but when he meets Sky she makes him feel
whole. I really like me some Chace. He is one Hot Dragon Shifter.
