Wishlist Wednesday #6

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted @ Pen to Paper where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

Tiffany:
Saving the world is easy for a superhero—unless you’re a fraud. Jo Tanis is a superhero, fighting evil on the city streets, using her ability to feed off electromagnetic energy and fire off charges—and it’s all just a show. The Agency captures her and others like her when their powers begin to manifest, pitting them against each other in staged, gladiatorial fights. An explosive implant on the back of her neck assures she’ll keep right on smiling for the camera and beating up the bad guys. When Earth comes under attack, suddenly the show becomes deadly real. Unable to deal with a real alien, the “supers” are falling in droves. Millions of innocent civilians are going to die…unless Jo can cobble together a team from among the fake heroes and villains the Agency enslaved. Including Hunter, who not only promises to show her how to deactivate the implants, but seems to know more than he should about how the mysterious Agency operates. Forcing a rag-tag bunch of former enemies to work together is the least of Jo’s problems. The trick is determining if Hunter is friend or foe—and becoming the hero everyone thought she was before the world is destroyed for real. Warning: Contains superhero in-jokes, Canadiana and large alien craft shaped like avocados. Really.

I don't even remember how I came to find this book. i may have been surfing Goodreads b/c I'm always on there......not always ;) What drew me in first was the cover. I mean come on she has light coming out of her hands. Then there is the summary. She can feed off electricity and fire, how cooler can this get but it does. Gladiator fights, come on man Gladiator is my favorite movie, count me in. Plus, trying to save the world. Hopefully, I'll be reading this soon. What is on your Wishlist? Link us up in the comment section below. :)

Goodreads:

Would you live through the ultimate test of survival?

The city of Kersh is a safe haven, but the price of safety is high. Everyone has a genetic Alternate—a twin raised by another family—and citizens must prove their worth by eliminating their Alts before their twentieth birthday. Survival means advanced schooling, a good job, marriage—life.

Fifteen-year-old West Grayer has trained as a fighter, preparing for the day when her assignment arrives and she will have one month to hunt down and kill her Alt. But then a tragic misstep shakes West’s confidence. Stricken with grief and guilt, she’s no longer certain that she’s the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future. If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from her Alt, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.

I wish the main character was older than 15. But that is just because I don’t like my book people to be younger than I am (nineteen) I will get over it. You know why? Because it sounds awesome. It sounds a lot like this other series I want to read where a Witch has to kill her counterpart but instead she lets her live and they merge and something awesome like that. Hang on, I am supposed to be wishing for Dualed. (sidetracked....oops). SO anyway, this sounds like my cup of tea. Iced Sweet Tea. After all, I am from Alabama. ;) (freaking great. Now I'm thirsty. D:

found that other series. I guess it is a Duology. Doppleganger. It Actually sounds better than Dualed.....eh. I already put Dualed up there. LAZY. But I want to read the Dopplegangers now....
