{Review} Spooked by Tracy Sharp

Sixteen year old Lorelei has a special talent. She can steal your deepest, darkest secrets. However, using her power leaves her open to some very nasty creatures from the underworld.

But then a girl from her school disappears. Then another. And another. Lorelei might be able to discover who is abducting the girls from her town if she uses her gift . . .

Can Lorelei stop more girls from being taken? Or will using her gift attract the hell-things that are after her?

My Review:

I received this book from the author for my honest review.

Girls are going missing and it’s up to Lore to find out who is doing it…..that is if the kidnapper doesn’t find her first.

Lorelei is just an average 16 yr old girl that happens to have a certain “gift”. She can see your darkest secrets and can take them from you if she wants. She is warned by her aunt to never use her powers b/c there are some people…..or things that will kill her or use her for their own good. She has always followed the rules until girls start to go missing in her town. Lore just can’t sit around doing nothing when she knows that she can help. So she uses her gift. Will she find the answers that she seeks or will the people she is looking for find her first.

I really liked this book. It was creepy and scary at the same time. Even though there wasn’t a lot of world building, I still liked it. It was a short fast paced book. In the beginning it kind of dragged on with all the information given at once, but we needed all the info to understand what was going on.  Ok, so I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone, so I’m just going to say that, we really get to see Lore use her gift in the second half of the book. That’s when I finally started to really get into the book. There was plenty of action and there was always a sense of doom. It was all in the name of finding out who was kidnapping all the girls in her town. Oh, and you will never figure out who it is. I thought it was everyone, but the person it actually was. It will shock you to your core.

Felicia Tatum Interview + Giveaway [BLOGOVERSARY]

Hello lovelies! Today we have an interview with the lovely Felicia Tatum, Author of The White Aura Series. We are super psyched to have her on the blog today! <3

1) Do you have a favorite place where you love to write?

FT: Anywhere I can take my computer. If I’m in the mood to write, the place just fades into the background.

2) If you were writing a book about your life, what would you title it?

FT: “Oh hey, seriously? You want me to title this?”

3) When you were creating the love interest, were you remembering someone you knew, or was he purely fiction? ;)

FT: He was pure fiction! I’ve never dated anyone so wonderful. (Sorry, boys haha)

4) Was there a certain author or book that influenced you into writing paranormal?

FT: I’ve always enjoyed it, and in the beginning I wasn’t even planning on it being paranormal…it just sort of happened. So, nope.

5) Do you have a favorite character in your series? If so, can you tell me who it is?

FT: Yes! Sadie! She’s a lot like me with her sassiness and I love it.

6) How many books do you hope to have in your sorcerer series, if you don’t mind me asking?

FT: I’m planning on 3. But who knows.

7) Have you ever dreamed about a “dream man” like your character does? (:

FT: I have had odd dreams about a guy I’ve never met, but he was nothing like Scott…unfortunately. haha

8) Now I have not had a chance to read the book yet, so forgive me if the answer lies within the pages. How did you come up with the book title, The White Aura? If it a big secret or spoiler from the book, feel free to say no comment or change the subject. ;)

FT: It came to me about half way through writing the book. Once you read it, you’ll know why

9) Do you get extremely attached to your characters? If so, how do you react when you have to write a scene that is going to be particularly hard on them?

FT: Yes! Of course, these characters are a part of me. I dream about them all the time. And writing difficult scenes is hard on me, emotionally, because I feel what they do.

10) I would like to end off the interview with something fun. Can you tell me something fun/random/wonky/crazy about yourself or your writing habits?

FT: Hmm….well, I like to dance while I drive, talking about my writing in person makes me feel awkward, and going to the grocery store made me feel like a celebrity for about a month after the book was released

Stephanie Constante Interview + Giveaway [Blogoversary]

Today we have an interview with the lovely Stephanie Constante! She has written the first two books in her Draconi Series [Incendio and Baptism of Fire] and another novel, Pygmalia, is due out soon! We are so excited for this author. She is such a sweetheart. (:

1.What sparked the idea for your novel?

SC: Well, for starters, I love dragons and I really wanted to do a story about them. I knew that I wanted there to be something besides the fantasy aspects. I wanted it to cover the idea of different societies and customs and how one has to adapt to them. I knew I wanted a strong female lead who could go up against a tough male character without flinching and I wanted the male lead to have that hard exterior while actually being really softhearted. From there the series just took off.

2.Your series is titled The Draconi Series… so it does not take a genius to figure out that dragons (<3) are involved in your books. Are they your favorite paranormal or mythological creature, or do you have another one? Why is it your favorite?

SC: Yes, I do have to say that dragons are on the top of my list but number one goes to mermaids.  I’m sure I’m not the only girl that fell in love with The Little Mermaid story as a kid. :oD

3.Do you have a favorite character from The Draconi Series? If so, can you tell me who it is?

SC: I love Cillian. He’s loyal, logical, sweet, and just hilarious.

4. What was the hardest part of writing the series?

SC: I have to say the hardest part was writing the scenes that just carry the story along. There are always key points in every chapter but sometimes you have to add filler to get things moving.

5.What was your favorite part of writing the series?

SC: I loved the romantic scenes. I’m a sucker for romance, especially the kind where you know the characters love each other but act like they don’t. If only they weren’t so stubborn! It was great to write the banter and the lovey dovey parts.

6.Do you have any books planned in the near future? If so, can you tell us about your upcoming books? Perhaps another Draconi novel? Hmn….?

SC: I have book one of the Rebellium Series coming out June 1st called Pygmalia. It’s a Sci-Fi YA romance series about a girl who is forced to spend the summer at her father’s estate in England and discovers an insane experiment he’s been working on. What if Dr. Frankenstein had a daughter and what if that daughter was to fall in love with his monster? I have some other books I’m also working on but those are under lock and key for now. ;P

7.Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

SC: Some of my characters are based on real people. Cillian and Valdis for instance are two characters who I modeled after some friends of mine. I like to include personality traits of people I know into characters in my books.

8.What is your  most positive experience as an author ?

SC: I have to say the most positive experience I had was when I told my friends that I self-published. I got so much love and support when I came out with the news. It’s really hard to tell people that you wrote something. Writing can be really deep and personal and it’s basically opening your mind and saying, “take a look inside!” My friends made that whole transition so much easier.

9.If your books were made into a movie, who would you have playing your characters?

SC: I have a really long list but I’ll narrow it down to the three main characters in the Draconi Series.  Imogen Poots as Leito, Taylor Kitsch as Aidan, and Jack Huston as Cillian.

10.If you were writing a book about your life, what would you title it?

SC: I think I’d call it At the Mad Hatter’s Table. I love Alice in Wonderland and I work with people who have mental disorders so sometimes it does feel like I’m trying to rationalize with March Hares and Mad Hatters.

11.Can you describe your Draconi series in one sentence?

SC: A headstrong girl meets a vengeful dragon and nothing will ever be the same again for either of them.

12.I would like to end the interview with something fun. Can you tell me something fun/random/wonky/crazy about yourself or your writing habits?

SC: I’m addicted to Google. My friends make fun of me because I’m constantly on it but I can usually find anything on Google, even something completely random.
